Get your own unique domain

Think of a domain as the street address for your online dating site. A domain name is a unique name that identifies a website. For example, the domain name of the Dating Pro company is https://www.datingpro.com/. The domain is used as your website address and appears in the address bar of a browser:

<a href="https://www.datingpro.com/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://www.datingpro.com/</a>

Selecting the right domain name for your site is very important as it is going to represent your brand, convey your message and help connect with your target audience.

Yes, you can register a domain on websites like GoDaddy.

Try to include keywords and keep it as easy to remember as possible.

Note that the domain name may affect the ranking of your site in search engines.

Once you change it, your regular audience will have a hard time finding your site and you will need to invest extra efforts in making it familiar again. However, if your previous domain name was hard to memorize and the new one is more fluent and attractive, you are going to benefit from the change.

So this is the way to go:

1. Go to your domain registrar control panel (the place where you purchased the new domain name) and change the default name servers of your domain name to the new ones.

If your temporary domain is sitename.pilotbest.com:

  1. Access the domain management section of your domain registrar's website.

  2. Locate the new domain in your list of domains.

  3. Navigate to the DNS settings or Name Server settings area.

  4. Replace the existing name server entries with the following:

    • ns1.pilotbest.com

    • ns2.pilotbest.com

If your temporary domain is sitename.pilotteam.net:

  1. Follow the same initial steps to access the DNS or Name Server settings for your domain.

  2. For the new domain, update the name server records to:

    • ns1.pilotteam.net

    • ns2.pilotteam.net

For a visual guide on how to change your domain's name servers, you might find it helpful to watch this instructional video provided by GoDaddy, which outlines the general process: How to Change Domain Nameservers at GoDaddy.

The process of domain name propagation can take up to 24-48 hours. To check if the changes took effect go to http://whois.domaintools.com/ > Write your domain name and click Search button:

You will see the information about your domain name including name servers.

2. If you are unable to successfully modify the NS records, reach out to the domain registrar and request for them to make the necessary changes to the NS records.
