Dating Pro software lets you classify site users. User types are what people describe themselves and their partners with, as in ‘I am a woman looking for a man‘.

You can create as many user types as you wish and give them any names.

To do that, access administration panel and go to Services > Customize your service > System > User types

To add a new user type, site admin needs to create three records:

One of the frequently asked is how to give user types different access permissions.

For example, you would like to give full site access for no charge to one user type, while other user types will have limited access to site features and they will have to upgrade their membership to access LikeMe game or write messages to other users.

Memberships, or access permissions, will let you give different permissions to different user groups. Two modes of operation are supported: the general mode where everyone is supposed to upgrade their membership in order to be allowed access to this or that site section, and the gender-based mode where you can distinguish between permissions for men and women or any other user types that you create for your website.

In this case, Subscription by user type should be applied in Services > Customize your service > Orders > Access permissions

​Tips:

1. You can translate the names of user types into all site languages.

2. If you delete a user type, all existing members who selected this option during registration will no longer be visible in search. If you decide to create a new user type, unattached members may get into this new category automatically, if the user type IDs match. That is why it is important that you create all required user types before you start accepting new members to avoid possible confusion.

3. Visit Marketplace for Members display permissions add-on, if you want to limit members to view the same gender, so it will make your website more of a dating type than a social.
