System : Events
The Events add-on will let you and your site members create events that people can join, comment on, upload photos of, and invite other site members to join and have fun.
The process is simple: what one needs to do to create an event is give it a name, address, venue and its location, indicate start/end date and time, and state the max allowed number of participants. The event organizer decides whether to allow participants to join without invitation, invite other people, and upload photos.
One may wish to create an exclusive event where people will only be able to join if they have been invited to.
Almost the same process from user mode is applicable in the admin panel as the site admin can create her/his own events or do it at some user’s request.
Go to Services > Customize your service > System > Events and click Create an event.
Fill in the details and save the event. Now you have access to 2 more tabs: Participants and Album.
Participants section allows you to invite users to the created event and manage them.
Click Invite people and select the ones you wish to send invitations to.
Album section allows adding media files to the event, for example video or images.
In the Settings tab, you can allow your site members to create their own events or prohibit the action, so you can be the only one posting events.
