One database, one copy of the platform, unlimited domain names. Every domain shows the same members and the same content — but to the visitor it looks like a separate site.
Why this matters
The hardest problem on a new dating site is an empty one. Nobody stays where there is nobody to meet.
Multiple domains solve this in a way that building several sites cannot. You can address five different audiences with five different domains, and all five draw on the same pool of members. A person who signs up through the site for hikers and a person who signs up through the site for people over fifty can find each other — they are in the same database.
Run five separate installations instead, and you get five empty sites.
What owners actually use it for
Countries and languages. A local domain earns trust that a foreign one does not, and search engines in most countries favour local addresses. Same members underneath.
Niches. A domain for one interest speaks to people that interest, and its name does the advertising for you. Cheaper than explaining on a general site who it is for.
Testing names. Two domains, the same site, and you see which name brings more registrations before you commit to one.
Advertising channels. A separate domain per campaign makes the numbers clean without extra tracking.
How it works
One platform installation, one database, any number of domains pointed at it. Redirects between domains are supported, so an old address can lead to a new one.
By default all domains show the same thing. Same members, same content, same design. If you need one domain to look different or show only part of the content, that is custom work — ask the Experts team for an estimate.
Before you buy ten domains
Every domain costs money every year. Ten domains is ten renewals, and the ones nobody visits still send you invoices.
Search engines need to know which address is the real one. The same content on several domains looks like duplication unless you say otherwise. Set the main address and the canonical links — see SEO settings.
A domain is not a strategy. A niche address only works if the promise on the page matches it. Same page under five names brings the same result five times over.
Start with two. Your main one and one experiment. Add more once the experiment proves anything.
Connecting a domain
You register the domain yourself — around ten dollars a year at any registrar — and it is pointed at your site. See connecting a domain.
Each domain needs its own security certificate so it opens securely — see getting a certificate.
Availability in your plan and the current price: see the pricing page and the add-on card.
Common questions
Will members notice they are on the same site?
If they visit two of your domains, yes — the members are the same. This is a feature, not a problem: it is what stops each domain from being empty.
Can each domain have its own design?
Not out of the box. That is custom work.
Do I need separate hosting for each domain?
No. One installation serves all of them.
Is there a limit on how many?
No limit on the platform side. The limit is your patience with renewals.
